About Me

StreetLife: I'm using this blog as a “zine” to fuse several projects I'm working on that in some way address "living on the streets" of San Francisco. Although I'm housed and fed, I am still a street dweller. I walk the streets every day, experiencing public space through my own lens as a woman and an introvert. We all live on the streets, really: our inner worlds impacted, to some degree, by the thought lives of others. When unquestioned, those thoughts create “norms” that influence identity. So even in the solitude of our own minds, we invite the public in. This interplay IS living on the streets. In this zine, I will explore issues of respect and personhood, constructions of identity, expressed (and internalized) objectification of women, and what it means to be female in my beautiful City on a cloud.... Along the way, we’ll go on the field trip that is my day-to-day life on the streets. Expect found object arts and crafts, exercising, traffic-related pet peeve rants, and lots of brooding.
